I'd like to find a cook kit from the 1960s. Mine consists of three nesting pots - 1 gal - 2 qt and 1 qt with a frying pan and a lid you could use as a frying pan, wire bails on the pots and a removeable handle for the others. Mine is thin and springing leaks. It dates back to our 2nd BWCA trip in 1965 and has a million memories. Thanks.

What you are looking for is a Mirro Aluminum cook set. You can find them on EBay or ESTY. These bring back good memories of Boy Scouts.

If it came with plastic cups and plates, l’d guess it is probably an American Camper 6 person Cook Set.

Look for Open Country Cookware. I don't see the full set online anymore, but it was similar to our Mirro Weekender set from the 1970s that we still use for car camping. Well sized for group cooking needs over stoves and over the open fire. Open Country's sets are made with a slightly thinner gauge aluminum and include some fairly worthless divided plastic plates and small cups (our Mirro has the normal metal plates), but you can probably still find individual pots, etc. VNO usually has some used pieces and sets, too.

Apparently discontinued, but here is what it looked like.

When car camping I still use an aluminum set like the OP described. My dad acquired it in the early 1970s. My step-kids' grandpa gave us another, very similar set when he gave up camping. I'd guess there are plenty of others in basements and garages, so maybe a post on Craig's List would find one for sale cheap.

Thanks for all the info. I decided to try and patch the bottom with jb weld, I only use the set car camping because I mostly solo. I will keep looking for the perfect match, all of the suggested kits could be right. (My dad may have pieced it together from several kits )

Why don't you post a picture of the set. Someone may have it in their basement, etc. I have several unused sets I acquired at garage sales, etc., but not sure if they are what you are looking for.
