Hey All--

I want to take a 5 day adventure into quetico from a northern access point. I've paddled extensively in eastern ontario, but have no clue when it comes to quetico. Am I too late to get a permit? What are the better entry points? Any good trip recommendations are greatly appreciated including access points. Love to fish for walleye, lake trout doesn't hurt either.

Thanks

Sev

It is definitely not too late to get a permit. I would suggest Beaverhouse and go into Cirrus or Quetico Lake and base camp or make a small loop there. Great walleye and there are trout too.

If not Beaverhouse, you could paddle down from one of the middle entry points (Nym?) and go into Jesse and points thereof. There are literally so many options for a trip like you want to take.

Get yourself some McKenzie maps and plot out a trip. If you need some specific questions answered, ask them on here. There are plenty of Quetico paddlers on the board.

It's only a spot on the map... until you go there.

severn04,

It's not too late especially from the north side, but you do need to get a permit. I you are going to rent anything from an outfitter they can get a permit for you. If not you will have to call and get one yourself....no permit = no trip
