I bought a boboli pizza crust and sauce pack to take along for my upcoming trip. Those who make pizzas up there, do you dehydrate the sauce or just take the sauce pack as is?

I've never messed around with dehydrating pizza sauce. I just bring in the bottle.

I like to sauce in the bag the best, last trip I could not find it and had to use the sauce in a plastic bottle. I had enough to make two pizzas...

As long as it's in plastic, take it as it is. I'd only dehydrate it if you wanted to take a sauce that's packaged in a can or jar ... or if you were really, really concerned with weight.

I dehydrate my tomato sauce and take the powder and spices to add into the powder as I use it.

Sometimes I;ll rehydrate it in a ziplock before using it and sometimes I'll sprinkle it on the pizza and drizzle a little water on it before baking it.

I make my own sauce and dehydrate it. It saves weight. Also, it has the advantage that you can eat it even if severe weather makes a fire or stove impossible.

You can also easily dehydrate store-bought stuff. I always "doctor" it up with extra onions, spices and garlic before dehydrating.

I like dehydrating the sauce.

I guess it probably doesn't save *that* much weight, but every bit counts, and I find it to be more fun. :)

course, I've dehydrated the cheese before too. hehe. and the onions, and the peppers...

Not me, but I don't have a dehydrator. But I would suggest an italian spice mix, whatever you like, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, etc, parm cheese, to sprinkle on the sauce. More flavor = more better.

Do whatever works...just remember to add anise seed to your sauce.
