How long will Hudson Bay Bread last in August in a 1/2 gal. cardboard container. I've never taken it before and leave in a month for a 10 trip. Can I make it now or do I wait until just before I leave?

In August I'd wait till the last, the longer it is exposed to warmth and humidity the more chance of mold etc.

Wait until closer to your trip. I don't think it will get moldy but it does get hard. I take it on almost every trip. I usually make it the Monday or Tuesday before our Sunday entry date. To keep it fresher, cut into squares and put into plastic storage containers.

Why not make it in a Jello mold oven, a reflector oven, or outback oven. That way you can make more up there. You can adjust the size of the batch to fit the pan. Here is how to make it... Hudson Bay Bread

You can mnake it now. It should keep for ata least a month.
I switched from Caro corn syrup to Guldens Goilden Syrup, use twice the honey and find that it stays pretty liable.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
