Referring to the lake in the Misquah hills region.

I realize this is somewhat subjective? But.....

From solely a fishing standpoint. Can the fishing in the lake be worthwhile enough to justify conquering the portage from Misquah?;-) Not saying phenomenal, just affording a realistic opportunity to catch a few trout in late September.

Thanks in advance,
TB

caught 5 little trout in Little Trout one afternoon trolling orange sinking rapalas with alot of line out-it was fun
the portage is worth it just to say you did it-i'll never forget that one-in fact, i wrote a limerick about it:

i once took a trail out of misquah
that left me all sore and twisted
i was after little trout
but, i soon figured out
to get there you better be a mistah
(or one tough sistah)

I wish I had not worked so hard for I am very tired.
I was fishing in a little lake because I am retired.
Someone asked me if it was worth the trip, I sighed and hung my head
I told them just to go for it before they go to bed.
They dreamt of Trout and fighting fish, they wanted so much to hold.
But fishing in Misquah, you see, is not an easy road.

I was also thinking about going to the area next spring except from Ram. I think it would be pretty fun to get into some Rainbows with the fly rod. Was also wondering if the fishing on those two lakes was decent or if I should just go somewhere else and fish lakers.

Fishing spring lakers is always a good idea.

I'll take a crack....

Sounds like if I head for Little Trout from Misquah.
I'll only end up getting pissed off.

So I should wish upon a star?
'Cos the fishing really is'nt up to par.

But, as history has shown.
My head is compromised exclusively of bone.

So despite what those on bwca.com say
I've decided to voyage there anyway.

Hopefully I can minimize the critics "howl?"
By seeing a moose, or having "spotted an owl."

forgive me. I'm only an amateur:-)

TB -we stayed on the island campsite- the day/night we camped on it there was a pretty impressive carving of an old man- like an old miner or a wizard carved into the side of a tree, right by the tent area (it's up high on the island)- when i daytripped back to LT a couple years later from Ram, it was gone- i should also mention i got skunked on the daytrip- the afternoon i caught some it was like a karma type thing- i'd earned enough points with the bdub gods, (it was my 2nd trip and pretty rugged) that they owed me some goodness- the trout meat is bright red and yummy- good luck, have fun, but most of all, don't cheat yourself out of that portage cya

Took the portage from Misquah to Little Trout
To see what all the fuss was about
But, because of our great fear
We did not bring ALL the gear
Traversing through the cold wind & persistant rain
We overcame the great pain
While I cannot say the fishing was great
We caught some, and this one we ate.

Good work. I love it when a plan comes together. And then a thread gets revisited.
