Since I'm no longer a nomad, (girlfriend loves the 2 basecamps per trip) which is fine. Considering solar lights near the tent guyouts/lines. Not wanting major bulk,thought of using the smaller sidewalk type, just wondering if anyone has modified onto a tent stake. Too obnoxious for others? Any opinions? Guess shade would be a factor. Thanks

There are guyouts/lines that are hi-reflective and the cheaper neon-glo as alternatives to achieve the hi-visibility.

The issue will be you want to shut off the light come sleep time otherwise if it's too obnoxious sleep will be tough. Go with reflective guy lines.

I think I read somewhere about converting A/C LED Christmas lights to battery operated. That might be an option. I bet someone here could even figure out how to use solar landscape light to be the power source.

We used some glow in the dark zipper pulls but now find the reflective lines very effective.

I have thee and have used them for the inside of my tent and Hammock. On the Hammock I wind them around the ridgeline, on the tent I wind them around the gearloft. They are great and light the whole tent up nice at night.

That said, if you are going to bring glow in the dark tent stakes, make sure to put them around the pen you construct for the little pigs you plan on portaging in for the bbq and for the landing field you will need for the passenger pigeons who lose their way in the dark and need to be redirected home.

Buy a string of "fairy lights" that run on AA's. Fairly lightweight, and I see you can get them with a remote to shut them off when you want to go to sleep. They last forever on a set of batteries. Just string them around your whole tent!
