Thanks for that report MagicPaddler. Good read!

That's hard core. You must be an adventurous type like me. I loved reading the report, thanks for posting. But - it would have been cool to have pics of those crazy portages.

I've got something similar from my Sept. Q. trip.

You are correct I should have taken pictures. At one point I was standing on down trees reaching as high as I could to push my canoe. That would have made a grate picture.
That is a great picture you have.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

That was some good stuff MagicP.

The mental image of you having to do the Cache portage in just a shirt and underwear has me cracking up again as I write this.

Note to self, always keep your only pair of pants and socks in the sleeping bag to avoid naked portaging.

While working around camp and before I found my pants I was thinking what do I say if I meet someone on the portage.

You could have told them... Boy what a party last night :>) What a adventure you had, glad you made it out safe!

MP,
Agree with the comment "Awesome Adventure", you dealt with some weather that was tough, unusual and unexpected. You showed some nice resilience and choices to those tough encounters.
Good job.

Thanks for reading and for your comments. I enjoy others reports and the unexpected is part of the adventure. Bushwhacking to the logging road gave me a feeling of success like few others.

Agree with Stumpy's "great story" but am not so sure about the "I would have liked to have been with you." Thanks!! --Goose

I enjoyed the trip and I would do it over but that is the only storm that scared me. I really got tired on those portages because of all the down trees. I did both of those portages again last summer, long but easy.
