Heading to Alder for a 4 day winter camping trip. Has anyone ever parked on E. Bearskin Rd where they stop plowing near Bearskin Lodge? Planning on parking at Clearwater, but curious if that's an option.

Are you entering at Clearwater then? Or East Bearskin? Start at one, exit the other???

Was just up at Bearskin Lodge earlier this month. They keep a large parking lot open & plowed. (If you need to park in that area?) I'd give them a call (1-800-338-4170) They will have definite answers for you regarding your original inquiry, what the other options are, and what they might charge to park in their lot.

We will be entering at Clearwater. I contacted Bearskin Lodge last winter and they told me about a parking spot near there lodge on E. Bearskin Road where the plowing stops, not the Bearskin Lodge parking lot. Anyway, its a moot point...we decided to enter and exit at Clearwater. I was curious if anyone had any problems parking there.

The road to the Clearwater access is usually plowed and there is room for several vehicles.

have not been there for a couple years in winter, but they always plowed the lot in the past as it is the end of the line and they need to turn around. Just be careful where you park as the lot goes downhill, make sure you can get back up from wherever you park. Also be careful driving the road back, there are several steep hills with curves, don't try to pick up speed on the hills, have good speed at the bottom so you're not trying to accelerate as you go up, if it's icy, could wind up in the treess, if that happens, could be a long walk or long wait
