I am looking for some back support on my Wenonah tractor seats and the bench seat on my Magic solo. I will mostly use it when I am fishing/relaxing , not for "aggresive" paddling.
I was looking at the Wenonah Super Seat :

Has anyone used both of these an is the Cushgear worth the extra money? I

I have not used both, I have this chair# and it's worked fine for me, both on the canoe and on the ground. The back support on it is like that of a camping chair.

I imagine the difference between the two would be like the difference between a camping chair and a dining chair. The CushGear seems to be made of just aluminum and plastic, and judging from the pictures it's built to have a high resistance from leaning back on it. While the other seats are fabric, they have a lower resistance.

This is all just my speculation as I haven't tried any chair like it, but I would imagine sitting on the CushGear would be like sitting on one of these chairs, So it's really just depending on which chair you prefer to sit on. The CushGear does look like it would provide stiffer back support, so it would be good for posture, but I enjoy my chair that let's me lean back a bit.

P.S. The CushGear page also says that the seat is not included, I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that. $99 seam a tad overpriced for just the back.

Anderson Canoe Outfitter in Crane Lake swears by the "Sitbacker Canoe Chair".

I'm going to pick one up this weekend for our Sunday trip.

I have the BackSaver on the bow and stern in my Spirit II. I love them, but typically only use them while fishing. My lifejacket catches them once in a while when I'm paddling, so I just make sure they are leaning back further when paddling. If you're doing a lot of portages, it gets tedious to cinch down the seat and then readjust the seat every time you're back in the water. I need to make some sort of quick disconnect to simplify the process.
