Malberg Lake waterfalls? I was looking at Google Earth to see what the area is like where im taking my trip this Friday. Notice this when I was looking at Malberg Lake. To the NE of Malberg there is some thing that looks like a waterfall?. Anyone been there or can confirm this waterfall? I might be wrong because I know that Google Earth uses a bunch of images to make a huge image. Any thoughts?

I have never been into that area from Malberg, but looking at the Google Earth images on my PC I can see that what your seeing is just the water surface on a windy day. The rest of the images are from a much calmer day. The images are sliced at that point.

It would still be neat to check the area out, have a good trip.

Scroll over & look at River Lake & the north end of Bow, shows the same thing.

There are nice rapids flowing from Koma into Malberg at the south end of the lake and a small waterfall flowing into the Kawishiwi River at the NE end of the lake. You've enlarged a beaver pond connected to Malberg.
If you go to look at the falls into Kawishiwi the portage splits near the Kawishiwi end. The left fork goes to an overlook so stay to the right. A somewhat tricky put-in at the end of the portage to the Kawishiwi River.

Could it be cloud cover?

Could it be the last bit of ice/snow on the lake if the pic was taken in the spring?
