I will be staying at the gunflint lodge the last week of December. Can anyone recommend any good snowshoeing routes? This is our first winter trip and would like to experience some of the solitude we seek in the summer.

i bet the folks at the lodge can point you in the direction of good snowshoeing. do you have your own gear or using rental?

There are a ton of places to snow shoe all along the Gunflint. Ideas-portion of the Kekekabic and magnetic rock. We started there and now winter camp!!!

We stayed at the Gunflint Lodge for our honeymoon, forgot to mention-they also have their own trails! Have fun!

and don't forget the lakes, walking along the shore gives a different perspective from summer, and the bonus is, no hills! except when you walk the portage
