I just purchased a new bike (first one since 1997), and I am very excited to get back into riding. I used to ride a lot, but then we had 3 daughters in 32 months, and the last 16 years flew by. I am ready to hit the road again, and I am very much looking forward to regular rides with my wife as this was one of the activities that we used to really enjoy.

Back in 1995 we had a Santana tandem built for us, and we took our honeymoon on the bike. We rode around Minnesota for about two weeks and had a great time-even though the average temp was 95.

I hope to do some touring again, and I cannot wait until the bike arrives.

So what did you get? I'm getting anxious to ride myself. Injured my knee this winter XC skiing and no longer have an ACL, but have been told that I can do all the biking I want with no problem. We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground, but it's melting and won't be too long.

I went with a Novara Randonee. Have heard nothing but good things about the bike, and the price point was in my wheelhouse, especially after applying the 20% off member coupon and my rebate. I will post a review once I've ridden it for awhile.

It's supposed to be close to 70 here this weekend. I'm riding!

So am I! It will be the first chance I've had to try out the new wheels. Also looking forward to cleaning out the garage and working on my wife's bike to get it up and running.

Got three short (30-60 minutes)rides in this weekend on my mountain bike. I'm still recovering from my blown knee, but biking felt good with no pain or "scary moments". I am wearing a knee brace. It keeps everything in place while I continue to heal and was not a hinderance to riding. Felt great to finally get outside and moving.

Got my knee replaced in November it is doing great, I have in about 800 miles this year so far, well below the past 3 years. But have been having Atrial Fibrillation problems, and trying to get those straightened out where I can get to riding. Having a Cardiac Ablation done Monday which will put me out for another couple of weeks.
On the Bright Side... Wife and I bought new 29ers that we are going to take to Colorado this summer and so some riding around Rocky Mountain National Park as we can, and then heading to Pagosa Springs to ride some of the dirt roads of the San Juans. May even head over to Durango for some riding.

Keep on Pedaling guys!!

If the damn snow ever stops, I am looking forward to getting out! Cannot recall the last time we had snow in May; parts of southern MN got over a foot yesterday.

I FINALLY got the new bike out for a spin tonight, and I really enjoyed the ride! It was a short 45 minute jaunt, but man did it feel good to hit the pedals again! Looking forward to a much longer ride this Saturday with my wife.
