I stumbled across these lemon and lime packets. Anyone tried these before? Supposedly, real lemons and limes, crystallized. They're about the size of sugar packets or instant coffee packets. I got the unsweetened kind. I'm thinking a little lemon for fish, and lime in the foil pack chicken for chicken fajitas. They sell them at some but not all Cub Foods around Minneapolis. I had a hard time finding the lime in the store, it was hiding in the middle of the juice isle. The lemon was over by the kool-aid.

I just bought those this summer at Cub too!
I have been looking for a "natural" way to flavor my water in the BWCA and picked these up as my solution because all the other drink packets were diet or chemical based. One packet is like having a slice of lemon/lime in your water. I wouldn't do it all the time as the acid wouldn't be good for my tooth enamel but fine for a few trips in my mind. I also thought they might come in handy for cooking... I like your idea for using them for chicken fajitas!

I've used the lemon for drinking and definitely prefer it to other powdered drinks. And its a nice change from plain water. Have never seen the lime but I too love the idea of using them for cooking. Will look for these in the next week or two as we prep for our August trip.

They have the lemon and the lime at the Cub near your house as that is where I bought mine. I wish they carried the unsweetened orange too.

I'm headed there this weekend to shop for the trip... I'll look for them there. Thanks!

True lemon & etc
Thanks for the review. I noticed they had lemon iced tea in my local grocery store, but haven't tried it yet. Their other newer flavors seem promising (black cherry limeade, mango orange, peach lemonade)...am always looking for something different. Btw..they have a separate style for cooking with...pretty neat stuff-lemon-pepper, orange-ginger and lime, garlic & cilantro. Lots of flavors on the site I have never seen locally.

It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop. -Confucius
