Any information on PCD 1F1? Thinking about 1st night's camp on the way to Kawnipi from PP. I have read that there is a trout reef to the west and that channel to the east looks like a nice pinch point.

There is another island with 2 sites just about a mile north (PCD 1FV, 1FY).

I can't give you any info there but just south of there I stayed at 1FK in 2010. Nice location a little smallish, Good for two tents Max. Fair Landing, Nice Pit. Was pretty tired getting there on Day 1.

I spent two nights at 1F1 in 2009. I can't speak for the fishing, but the campsite itself is small but decent, with two tent pads. I would probably not lay over there again, as the amount of traffic through that corridor was a detraction. If you're looking for solitude, and still have the energy when you near the end of the narrows, I would probably continue north a bit and look for a site in the northern half of the lake.

I agree with Chris. There are some nicer sites further up. One on the little island just past the pictographs is great for a small group. You will need to go to mainland or adjacent island for firewood. Great Landing, So So Pit... nice views

Way up top is 1GT
