Great trip. I know that area well, as my parents lived on Bull Shoals for some years and I did the Buffalo. The bluffs are pretty amazing along there. A trip to remember!

Nice photos Deuce. Ya'll sure had a wide variety of watercraft. Ozark River tripping is special.

Thanks Andy. The kids played musical boats the whole time. After the rope swing Alex hopped in Gracie's kayak and took off so Gracie hopped in the tandem with Alex's dad. Within a couple hours she was on my buddy's raft, and the next morning she jumped back into her kayak and Alex rode the bow of the raft. Alex's dad ended up soloing the tandem for most of the trip. I'm thick in the Arkansas Canoe Club and we all have numerous boats and are constantly swapping back and forth. It's pretty funny.

Great pics! Is the river paddleable all year?

That reach is. If the Highway 14 gauge drops below 2.5 feet it can be a bit of a slog. Still worth going, just a bit more work, and rafts aren't a good option at that level.

Thanks, I'd like to try an Arkansas or Missouri river some year. Do you have a preferred time of year?

I love any time of year except for the dog days. Just gets a little too hot and sticky to camp then for me. Of course day trips are a different story. I've been doing the Current in the winter the last several years and that's a hoot. There's nobody on the water and lots to see.
