quote OldGreyGoose: "Great report. Thanks for sharing. Did you leave any fish, or eat them all? ;-) --Goose"
Ouch!! We were a group of 8 that lives out of state and we make 1 pilgrimage a year to the Quetico to fish, enjoy the woods and love to eat walleye. We let all the big ones go and had a few fish meals (3 in 8 days) plus kept 2 small lake trout. Nothing was wasted. I grew up in Idaho all we did was catch and release trout so know and preach it...

Great report and great pix. I had to laugh cause I took 3 of my boys up there the week after you left and our plan was to get to brent too starting at the bottle portage. Mark Zups warned us of neck deep muck on the the darky brent and cone brent portages and 2 of my kids who were newbies looked like they couldnt deal with it so we stayed on argo and di a smaller loop back. Glad to see Mark wasnt lying about the muck. My younger kids probably wouldnt have seen the humor of waist deep muck-though given my aging balance issues, it probably would have been me in the muck- which they probably would have enjoyed. Glad u had a great trip. I used to backback in the sawtooths in Idaho when I was younger-great party of the country too.

This is a very nice trip report. Great photos.
I got somewhat confused when reading it on July 6th, and your first entries were "July 12" and "July 13", so I went back to check the dates, and I think you must have meant "June." But otherwise, it was a good read. Can't imagine a canoe trip with such a crowd of people, but it was still fun to read how all of your varied participants enjoyed their experience.

Hillbilly, Just teasing. Good for you all. BTW, the western Brent campsite that was occupied when you were there would not really be a good one for a large group, if I recall. (Nice spot, though.) --Goose
Soloing is sweet, but a good partner is "priceless."
