I posted this note in the lost&found section after my June canoe trip: "Lost a brand new tan Columbia fishing shirt somewhere between West Lake and Shade Lake in Quetico on May 27." and received this e-mail last night:

"Mark, I'm glad we're about the same size. I found your shirt on an extremely hot, sunny day -- I was daytripping and left my sunshirt back at camp, so your shirt saved the day. It is well-worn after my 7 month solo trip. " Gary Fiedler/Radiant Spirit Gallery (who, coincidentally is a fellow contributing photographer to the Boundary Water Journal).

"Inspired by Wilderness: A Four Season Solo Canoe Trip"
On March 20, 2014, the first day of Spring, Fiedler pulled his canoe and gear on a sled across a frozen lake to a BWCAW campsite to await ice-out. Throughout the 221 day adventure, Fiedler endured many challenging extremes: record cold and snow, high water levels, abundant black flies and mosquitoes, and carrying up to 400 pounds of gear across 90 portages between the lakes.
He paddled 811 miles on 83 lakes and rivers, and hiked 178 miles on portages. Every 6-8 weeks, Fiedler’s wife, Dawn LaPointe, met him in the wilderness to resupply him with 140 pounds of food, and exchanged seasonal and worn gear. Over the duration of the trip, Fiedler experienced a total of 78 days without seeing another person, but enjoyed observing and hearing a variety of wildlife.

If I did I'd have to frame it.
