Anyone with experience / advice about staying a few days at a fishing lodge or cabin in the Rainy River -Atikokan area? Any experience with Seine River Lodge?

We've stayed here Indiaonta Resort Very nice, friendly people and reasonable. We didn't fish there just used it as a bunkhouse. Several very nice lake front cabins there. I think it is on the same chain of lakes as Seine River Lodge.

Additionally, directly opposite Flanders road off the highway if your entry is Beaverhouse Lake. This is West of Atikokan.

For years, we've been staying at the White Otter Inn in Atikokan the night before we enter. Clean enough, restaurant in-house, ranger station for camping permit a couple blocks away, Beer Store across the street and about $100 for two queen beds. Works for us.

I'll add we stayed at Atikokan Hotel and it was very pleasant with similar rates to White Otter.

Do schedule a Souris River factory tour if staying close. Well worth an hour.

I have stayed at the cabins at Finlaysen campground, decent cabins and a store that carries a few of the basics.

+1 on Indiaonta Resort.

Old Hoosier and my group of 3 stayed there in the fall 2013. Nice accommodations in a spacious cabin and excellent supper and breakfast.

Located 62 miles east Ft. Francis off Hwy 11 and 3 miles north on Flanders Rd.

Close access to Beaverhouse entry too. Only 15 miles south

How did you pay U.S dollars or what?

The White Otter takes both Canadian dollars (obviously) and US dollars. They convert the USD to Canadian and you'll pay whatever the exchange rate is. They also take credit cards, but you'll have to ask your bank about conversion fees. I would think most, if not all, resorts in the area do the same. I know the gas stations and other stores do.

We stoped at Indiaonta after our trip last year and rented the shower. Nice place.

Had a buddy who rented a cabin from Morris Camp, he rented a boat and had a good time fishing several lakes close by.

Others you may want to look into, Camp Quetico, Crystal beach resort, Niobe lake lodge, Marrs perch lake lodge. I am shure there are many others.
