Thanks for the report. Haven and Jigsaw are on my itinerary for this years trip. Jigsaw looks like such a fun lake navigate. It had to be a real beauty before the fire. Would you recommend and overnight stay on Jigsaw?

If I remember correctly, Jigsaw was part of the burn a few years ago and had not large trees on it. I think the picture may be the entrance into Jigsaw from Gulch but I am not sure. Navigating Jigsaw was fun but easier since we had two GPS units in the canoe. One of our guys is a die hard map and compass guy and after we successfully made it to the portage to Wrist he commented that he was glad we had the GPS. If you did camp there I am sure you would have the lake to yourself. Harlan at Red Lake Outfitters marked three campsites on our map, but we did not see any we liked or any that would handle more than one or two tents, so we went on to Wrist which was a good move. We did not try any fishing in Jigsaw but I am sure it is not heavily fished.

Great trip report. I love the solitude and untouched wilderness of WCPP. Your trip report really brought me back.

Sylbill,
Thanks for your trip report. It has given me an idea for an alternative route at the end of August 2015.

We are leaving tomorrow night for the Beaverhouse entry into Quetico. I am sure we will make a lot of references to our WCPP trip. One lesson I learned from the WCPP trip was to try and cover less ground so we would have more time for fishing.
