Considering a trip up towards Devil's Cascade around Feb 21. Are both EP 14 and the Sioux Hustler Trail parking lots open, or just 14? Does anyone use the SH Trail in winter (I've hiked it several times in summer, but that is a whole different thing), or do most folks travel the river route and across Pauness Lakes? Much appreciate any info and advice that I can get!

Wonderful, Thank you Dan! Looks like parking is kinda in the entry road, or was that just for the night?

Just enough room to get off the road.

We went in there last winter & the EP road wasn't plowed. Fortunately a member of our group lives near there and plowed it out just prior to our trip.

Wow! Great trip report and photos! I've canoe camped on Shell Lake twice and love that area. Really nice to see it in the winter.

Yes - great trip report! One of my favorite routes in the summer and as Mc2mens stated, so interesting to see in winter. Looks like so much fun!

Uncle Moose did the Photos and trip Report, a very good one at that. His knowledge on digital Photography is extremely deep. This was his first Winter BWCA tripand there were two other first timers on the trip. Uncle Moose is married to Heidi Heidi's web site Pinkerton and here photography is something to behold as well.
