I thought I'd link to a backcountry trip made by Shug. He's a member here but didn't link in the trip report section this time so I thought you winter campers would like to see it.

Thanks for posting. I always enjoy Shug's videos. He makes winter hanging look easy, doesn't he?

He knows how to have fun. He's inspired many people to take up hanging and I'm one of them.

It's fun watching Shug. I wish this series was longer.

Thanks Tom. Shug's videos are the best entertainment out there! He inspired me to try winter hanging. Definitely check out all his BWCA hiking videos.

Yeah, I think I've seen all of his videos. I subscribe to his youtube channel. This guy could make big money as a pitchman for an outdoor gear company if he wanted too. Maybe when he can't do the entertainer thing anymore physically he'll go this route. Very entertaining fellow. Makes other trip videos look boring.

Yep I spend a lot of hours in January watching the 200+ YouTube videos about hanging and rigging tarps. Everyone on the forum has unique perspectives to learn from.

+1
My first exposure to hammock camping came from a Shug video that I stumbled across on youtube which ultimately led to my first hammock purchase and hammock camping experience - love it!

At his youtube site he has several more good ones. I think the best was his first time up around Ely in winter 2010 maybe. A very animated shug in -20 below.
