4 night basecamp end of May. Targeting big lake trout with pike/walleye second. Where do you go?

You could certainly set up camp and be fishing in the first hour instead of traveling to North Bay or the top of Agnes. No portages either.

No portages other than from paring lot to water. :)

Thanks for the replies! I'll put that info in my pocket for future trips. I should have added some more context...last year we got a tow to Washington island and camped in north bay. No portages and we were fishing within 15 minutes of being in the canoe. Actually caught the biggest trout of the trip and of my life on the way to our campsite. We didn't find many walleyes or pike but know basswood is known for them.

We actually reserved our permit and tow for a similar trip but the allure of something new is always intriguing. I've also heard that Agnes holds some big trout. Just tring to figure out if it's worth the extra travel. Any thoughts? Or advice for either lake or the area in general?? Thanks again.

I've caught some of my biggest Lakers in Agnes...and in North bay. A good fishfinder will be valuable.
