Trying to sell my Seliga canoe. My grandfather bought the canoe from Joe in '89 and it has only been on 2 or 3 trips I'm told. I have the original bill of sale with matching serial numbers and Joe's Signature.
Still in great shape, a few minor touch ups needed to the paint on the hull, but otherwise in good shape. I have extra paint which will be included in the sale. See the craigslist link below for pictures.
Craigslist Listing with Images of Canoe
I'm asking for $7000 for the canoe, but I'm willing to discuss other offers. Also, as stated in the listing, I'm in the St. Louis area. I will be up in Ely this August for a trip to the Quetico and would be willing to transport the canoe then, but if someone wants it before then, I would please ask for them to pick it up from me.

Good luck on the sale. It's a great looking boat!
There's another one that's been posted the MSP Craigslist intermittently for the last three years that is also priced at $7000. I haven't seen it yet this year, so maybe he actually sold it!

They are great boats. I own one and can attest to how much fun they are to paddle. Mine is a little newer having been completed in November of 1993. My canoe was hull number 589 while the one offered was number 528 and completed in July 1988. I assume this is a 17 footer and should have the length stamped in the canoe neat the serial number. Joe numbered all hulls weather he completed them or not. Some canoes he started he never finished for various reasons but the majority were completed and sold to Camp Widjiwagan, friends or sold to other people who heard about them and ordered. When Joe died he had a backlog of boats on order that never got built.
I was fortunate to meet Joe a long time ago at Piragis and he and I spent time up in the bookstore talking about canoes and the Quetico trip I was leaving on.
These canoes are definitely collector items and something to treasure if you are lucky enough to own one.

Mine weighs about 75 pounds completely dry. As they are paddled on a trip they pick up some water in the canvas so will weigh more before the trip is over.
