I liked the lessons learned being so clearly called out, and especially liked the campfire version of your trip report and photos. Is that a pillowcase you used to repair the "escape hatch" the german sheperd made in the tent? Plans to go back??

Thanks, I really enjoyed your trip reports and lessons learned. It's always nice to find out how it all turned out. In 2012 I came to Omega from the west through Muskeg and Kiskadinna. When I arrived, I was so tired I took the first campsite (the west one) and stayed there 2 nights. The next day I circumnavigated Omega. Oddly enough I came to the opposite conclusion from you about the campsites - I made a note to take the one in the northern arm if I ever return since it's off the travel route and elevated, which is something I like in a site. I'm not sure it would be my choice if bad weather were imminent, but otherwise...

Thanks for the report. Good lessons. I'm heading to that area. I had heard the cliffs are worth checking out but maybe not worth a diversion.

I find that same thing all the time with trip reports of familiar areas. One person's 5 star is another person's 2 star. Everybody has different preferences. But there will always be the campsites that everyone dislikes too.

Yes, and I have different needs as a solo (occasional tandem) vs. a larger group that needs more tent pads and maybe a better "camp kitchen area". Solo (or tandem) really expands your options. But there's also a good point about the weather.
