So last week my brother and I floated the Suwannee River with my new oven. Never had baked before on a trip and it was great and fun. We had blueberry muffins and a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The mixes both needed eggs and milk which was easy this time since we were not portaging and had a cooler. Do you all have names of specific mixes just needing water for my trip to Woodland Caribou this summer? Thanks, Dan
Besides getting some plain powdered eggs for which they are perfect, I think Jiffy has some. I go through mixes and can usually find some muffins, biscuits, and such.
Wal-Mart has just add water biscuit mixes in red pouches. I forget the brand they are. They have a 3 cheese, Garlic, plain and a buttermilk. There are also brownie mixes in a plastic red jug that are just add water. I usually just take it out of the jug and put it in a freezer Ziploc to carry and mix. Most of the cake mixes that my area stores carry you have to add eggs to or some oil. Just carry the Ova easy eggs and some oil in a small Nalgene. I hope you enjoy the reflector oven I love baking in the ones I own.

I'm a fan of the Jiffy mixes. I take fresh eggs as they don't need to be refrigerated and use powdered milk. If fresh eggs are not an option just check the options at your local grocery store and there should be some mixes that only need water. Reflector oven cooking is highly addictive!
