Is May 15th the first day people can be in Quetico or just the first day a reserved permit is required? I have a permit for that day and am just wondering if we will encounter others making a mad dash in to enjoy the early spring fishing or if others will already be in the park.

people can go in before that.....you just self permit (fill out the form and drop it in the box with your money)

You shouldn't have any problem on Jean, that's a great lake to catch the grand slam in a day.
