That is a great trip report, you take fantastic pictures. What camera did you use? Great quality shots.
Nice route and area too, will need to visit someday.

Can I ask how much it cost for the shuttle?
I'd assume the other costs would be similar to a BW trip if you're renting canoes, getting food, etc though an outfitter.
We've never been to the Q but need to very soon.

I think the total round trip shuttle was $230 per person for boat ride and Suburban pickup to get dropped off at Beaverhouse and then boat pick up at Twin Falls on the east side of LLC. Some think this is spendy but for what most people pay to go on "vacation" I think the added expense is minor in relation to what you get in Quetico (better fishing, less people, etc). That said I have never gone to BWCA if I lived in the area Im sure I would do both.
Great fishing below the old logging Dam on Tanner but to be honest we rolled in there after a long day and I did not fish. Buddies did and they caught lots of 18" walleye and bass. This is a great route and not having to paddle up the Maligne is very nice.
My camera is a Nikon D3100 with a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G lens which is nice since that 1 lens is good for pretty much anything for an amateur photographer that wants to take good photos close up/far away/etc.

Nice report. I was in many of the same spots in early July so I can really relate. Sounds like you have a great group to paddle with and you worked through some awesome country. I am wondering why you went from Bentpine back to Rogue rather than right out to Sturgeon? Like you, I though Rogue was a really awesome spot but I am not sure I would detour that far to fish it.

Thwarted you are correct that would be a long backtrack I got mixed up when I wrote the report and meant to say March Lake between Bentpine and Sturgeon. We did go out the easy way you are thinking. I would like to do this route again but go from Quetico to Badwater, Your, Snow, Trail, March and out the Maligne... although I dont know if I can pass up the smallmouth bass action in little Jean if ever back in that area. Thx for the catch I will fix the report! Which route did you go?
Johno you just need to troll something all the time! This year we did really well on little flicker shad those are great little lures!
Jasperpaddler I dont know about water levels now but they were probably average if I had to guess when we went though in early June... not anywhere near as high as last year.
