Pulled a Doh! moment, and one of our fishing license from Ontario did not print properly. I called Ontario Natural Resources 1-800 number figuring this would be an easy fix, unfortunately after 20 minutes on hold I got a firm no on receiving a reprint. They informed me that I would need to go to an authorized dealer to get a reprint. Does anyone know if Prairie Portage can do these reprints? Or is there someone in Ely?

I know that Prairie Portage does sell Ontario fishing licenses, so they must be an authorized dealer. However, their online connection is definitely low bandwidth, so I don't know how easy it would be for them to retrieve a copy of your license. Are you working with an Ely-area outfitter? If so, I'd give them a call to see what advice or help they can give you.

Out of curiosity, had you printed it to a pdf, would that allow you to reprint as needed? I guess I'm asking does it seem you could print to a pdf?

The document and document receipt download as .pdf. But needs to be saved as HTML. Just went thru the process, but printed and saved both. If you think it is saved in downloads like normal .pdf it does not.

Chicken- A couple of years ago I accidentally deleted my current Ontario License. I didn't realize it until I printed it, thinking it was current, and noticed it was for the year before. Basically I'm an idiot and deleted the one I should have kept and kept the one I wanted to delete. I called them and explained my deal. The women was able to verify that I had purchased a license for the current year. She could not email it to me like I had hoped but she was able to have one sent to me in the mail. I'd call them again and maybe you will get someone a little more helpful on the phone.

Thank you for suggestion walleye_hunter, I tried again. I got nearly the same response as I did the first time. Essentially a scolding for not saving the original message. I have a message into our outfitter to see if they can do anything.

I meant when you print it, select adobe acrobat or some pdf printer device. Anything I print I can choose a printer or acrobat.

Chicken, I an technologically challenge so forgive me if this is too obvious. When I do what you did, I can usually retrieve the email through my trash file or by searching in the search place with the looking glass icon thingy.

You may still have it on your computer. Look in your "download" folder, under header "date modified" pick the date you purchased your license.
on my system it's file type is "Chrome HTML Document".

That is the document saved and printed from, complete with Ontario watermark (I saved 2 copies, redundancy).

Looks like I am down to buying a new license or getting a reprint at Prairie Portage.I tried butthead's idea and I even dug through history on the browser but I had no luck.

I understand that they are clear on the website, but this seems like a very simple fix to send out an email with your fishing license pdf attached, like the majority of other online print out type purchases.

Bill, this is correct. You just have to do it when you bu the license online. I printed mine to PDF, and then printed multiple copies at a later time from that PDF.

You can save it by printing to .pdf as Bill said. But the Save E-License saves as a downloaded HTML Document, and can be printed directly without converting to .pdf. So neither way is wrong. Just thought Chicken may have it, but not looked for the file type used by Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

Just to completely close this thread. We did our trip last week, and they were able to print our errant fishing license at Prairie Portage for a $12 cd.
