Has anyone stupidly run lower Basswood Falls and can prove it? Without swamping? There are videos on You Tube showing swamping and flipping on the attempt.
Years ago a buddy and I portaged our stuff around, then went over Little Falls in the Falls Chain. We made it, then flopped over in the whirlpool below. My future wife told me how stupid we were.. Not recommending this.

But she's still going through with the wedding?? ;)
I have never heard of anyone successfully doing that.
I suppose a kayak could do it fairly easily.
But, I don't see very much kayaking going on there.

Married 41 years, but she still tells me I'm stupid to keep going. Running the rapids at the Kawnipi outflow is a much safer idea and lots of fun.

There are reasons why portages are along waterfalls......use them.

A freind of mine almost bought the farm shooting a Rapids. My motto is always " if there is a portage take it" when approaching the top of a Rapids

Saw a pair try Wheelbarrow when I was a teen. Canoe shot strait up. I made 2 dives for one at the pool, then heard him coughing under a shore limb. I was on the portage and will always remember it. The front 5' of the canoe looked like an accordian and was bent at a 22.5 degree angle and was towed home empty. Dumb move.
