Just curious those of us in the area who are scouters.

I am and ASM for T889 in South Naperville. My son is close to Tenderfoot. (Crossed over this past February.)

I just got certified in paddle craft safety for Canoe and Kayak by the BSA (3 yr certification) and will be working towards a Canoeing Merit Badge Counselor certification.

I imagine that you and I are pretty close together. I am also in south Naperville. I have one scout that recently went from Tiger to Wolf, and I may enroll my youngest as a Lion in the fall. I am assistant Den Leader though I have completed a ton of online training toward Pack leader. Troupe 887 Three Fires Council is who we are affiliated with. So far I have had nothing but positive experiences, and the boys have been amazing.

You are very close! A lot of boys from Pack 887 cross over into Troop 889. (We run out of Wheatland Salem at the corner of Book and 95th)

Good luck with the Lion. It's all new this year, I just ended my tour as the Committee Chairman of our Cub Scout Pack. And I'm glad I don't have to go through that!

Not close to you but over on the other side of the state. I've been a Scouter since 89.

Very cool. Amazing what a small world it is sometimes. Book and 95th is about 5 minutes from me. Still not sure on the Lion because regular scouts is a big time commitment for just one of the boys, can;t imagine 2. We will see :)

I'm an ASM up in Gurnee for T671. We just got back on 7/30 from two weeks at Philmont.

Got my start as a Scouter as my son's Tiger DL. Eventually was ACM then CM for his last two years with the Pack. My youngest son is eligible for Lions starting 12 months from now, so I'm sure I'll jump back into that world before too long.
