Hi everyone
I found this on my local Craig's list. I can't find any info about it anywhere.
Here's the link of the sleeping pad. They won't go down in price. Any idea if this is worth the $20 or not?
Thanks
Mike

What is the weight on theses? I can not use a cheap foam pad and silly air mattresses are not even an option, so what is the weight difference of this to what you guys are using? I was told the other day a tent I liked was too heavy to be a hiking tent. They told me the weight of their hiking tent that they used and in was a difference of only ounces. It was like Mary Ellen telling Katz and Bryson their tents were different. I'm just wondering how heavy and then what's the better option? I got in a car wreck about twenty years ago now and screwed my back up really good and went down 3/4 of and inch in height because of it. I can't just sleep on anything.
Thanks in advance

No clue what the weight is on the pad in your original post, but I assume it is heavy. My favorite pad is a Nemo Cosmo XL 30 (2 pounds 2 oz). I also have-and like-an Exped Synmat 9 (2 pounds 8 oz). To me, anything over 3 pounds is too heavy, and with your back issues, I would suggest either of the pads I listed above.

How much did yours weigh?"

I can't find much information on the linked one, but the picture makes me think it's likely bulky, and it doesn't look like it would be that comfortable, which is my general experience with cheap pads.
I have an Exped Synmat7, which is comfortable without being bulky or overly heavy. I also like my Thermarest NeoAir. If I were you, given your back issues, I'd look at the quality makers like Exped, Big Agnes, Nemo, Thermarest, etc. for one that inflates to a good thickness and provides enough insulation for your expected low temps. It would be especially useful to you to go somewhere like REI where you could see them and try them out for comparison.

Thanks Bonnie
I know this will sound crazy, but I found a great pad this spring at Aldi for $15 and I love it. It's light and very comfy, but my wife likes it too and they only had one. So that's why I was hoping this would work out. Thanks again Bonnie

Well I bought the pad and you were all correct. It's crazy heavy. Oh well, I will use it for family camping locally. And keep it at home during my BWCA trips. You all told me so :-)

Megamat
Big bulky and heavier than most but this is what we use and I would think it would be a good nights rest for a person with back issues.

It looks great! The pad I just got is super comfy. If I was base camping I think I'd take it with me no question, all though yours looks like about the same weight and as bulky as mine and if you don't have a problem you never know
Thanks!
