Has anyone used the precooked bacon for this?

Used it for a BLT sandwich? Sure you could use it for that.

I was making the presumption that "LT" meant Lake Trout.

Yes LT= lake trout
didn't know if this stuff was brittle or had a little flexibility to it

Its flexible to a degree. You may want to warm it ever so slightly to up its pliability.

What Mirth said. Thirty seconds in a fry pan.

I am a little snobby when it comes to bacon so I don't really consider that precooked stuff acceptable bacon...

If it was me I'd get soem high quality bacon, pre cook it at home to the consistency and pliability you want, drain it with paper towels, then while still warm vacuum seal it and freeze it. Should last the whole trip for what you want it to do.
