Has anyone ever been able to successfully remove stickers from your kevlar canoe? If so, what did you use?

I bought a used outfitter rental canoe and I would really like to get rid of their stickers but they are proving to be quite a challenge and I don't want to damage the canoe in the process.

Heat, a plastic or nylon scraper, and acetone or rubbing alcohol for the residue.

This is one case where I would call or email a canoe builder and ask them for advice. Good luck.

I imagine that the Outfitter stickers have been varnished over several times like the ones on my old outfitter canoe. So getting them off will be a chore.

I've just embraced my old outfitter logos. I kind of like them, and don't see them on the water very often. Kind of like a throwback.

I had good luck getting an old outfitter sticker off with just a little heat from a heat gun.

With advice from others on this forum I used a hair dryer and it worked like a charm

Thanks for the responses everyone! I will give the hair dryer a shot. I don't have the skill or ambition for any more of a chore than that, LOL

I just removed two old registration stickers from my Bell Seliga Tripper using hot soapy water and a Magic Eraser...worked great!!! It took a little scrubbing but it did not affect the finish at all, good as new. The stickers were also warm from sitting in the sun which may have also helped. I know Goo Gone works, but it may dull the finish.

Look at your canoe again in the sunlight. Magic erasers scratch gel coats and resin. Keep them in the house and away from your boat.

Acetone referenced above will soften/remove any gel coat or resin coat. A hair dryer or heat gun works ok. Follow up with lighter fluid (as in ronsonol) to clean up any residue.

Correct. That is why I had to use my sander.
