Here's another new luxury item for those of you who wear your pfd every which way: the The ufloat

I know some of you wear'em like that but is there really a market for this?

PFDs are not any good unless you wear them and I don't see most people wearing them like this.

The idea makes sense if all you ever do is sit in the water...I'd imagine trying to swim somewhere or to something in one would be miserable and weird.

We have been wearing "life diapers" to "bob" in the lake for years. It is like having a chair in the water. Good to wear when life guarding the kids as they swim.

Ya your lower parts would stay up and out of the water while trying to swim. Would make an interesting sight to see on some.

While I see the utility for the BWCA is lacking here the "diaper" float is quite handy when you live on the lake and spend lots of weekends off the dock. We have been wearing the "water diaper float" for years!

Who thinks this is a good idea? You hit your head falling out of boat and what keeps your head out of the water? You would float like a bobber, feet up. How did these guys ever get this approved?

Wouldn't you naturally float "butt up?"

Try it. . .I use kayaking style PFD's and if you try going limp in the water, it will float you head and shoulders up, lower torso in the water. Most of the floatation should be in the front of you, with some on the upper back to the kneck to support the head if unconscious

It is considered a Type V PFD Special Use

For the pontoon boaters for sure! My grandkids would love them for jumping on and off the other grandads pontoon craft, look to fit better than the improvised pfd's they jump in with now.
Sure did't see any reference for use in canoe travel situations, or as a substitute for general pfd use. Some here have pretty narrow views!
MR Brown, I do float butt up.

I didn't really think people would wear them for bw trips. But I remember that some here like doing that to relax. And if you want one, they say they are in stock and ready to ship.

I still find it sort of funny. But then when I'm swimming, I generally like to swim and not just float. But throw in a drink holder and a margarita and who knows.

Being a guy, I wouldn't like one because I couldn't "scratch."

Now I just have to find someone that sells a 16' camp table shaped like an upside down canoe.

Heheheheh, funny! I was thinking on these spring-fed Ozark streams they'd keep the private parts better protected at "Room temperature?" Not that I could ever bring myself to wear anything so similar to a diaper until I have to (LOL)!
