Headed up to Basswood in a couple weeks. Has anyone stayed at this site? We're looking for a site with a fire grate near the water with good fishing from shore. Maybe a big rock face sticking out with a drop off. We're getting a tow from Fall lake and headed up in the afternoon. We won't have much time to look for sites and don't want to move once we decide. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Paddled right by it a few years ago. Don't recall anything about the site specifically, but do remember the area being especially pretty. Moved on to 1535 a bit to the north. It was a gem for us.

Next, I have to second ParkerMag's suggestion! #1535 is wonderful! This might be a good option if you find #1555 taken.

Thanks for the welcome and replies! We were looking at 1535 as well! I read in one of the reviews that there's a large rock face with a drop off on the site. Did either of you have success fishing from this site? Fishing is very important to our group and good bobber fishing from shore is always a plus! Thanks again...

We're not live bait folks, but did find good fishing very near by.

Large rock "back porch" good for fishing. You will have to check it out.
