I've got a nice woodstrip Kite (same hull below the waterline as a Swift Osprey) I'd be willing to let go. It's lightweight for a stripper (40 pounds) but doesn't look very traditional with aluminum gunwales, sliding bucket seat, and foot brace. Adding a bench seat would be easy and within 15 minutes every piece of aluminum could be removed and then replaced with wood if you wanted a little winter project.
Built strong with full 1/4" strips and 2 layers of 6oz. fiberglass on the outside. I wouldn't hesitate to take it to the BWCA and have in fact given some of my home built canoes significantly more abuse than you'll find on a typical BWCA trip.
Looks nice from 10' away but put your nose up close and you can tell it was my first woodstrip build.
It's a nice paddling canoe but I've built many more since and I've also been designing my own the past couple years. The goal is to eventually unload any canoe I haven't designed and built myself. So it could easily be on the for sale block.
$600 and it's located in NW Iowa (Estherville). Or for $1000 I'd pull off all the aluminum and replace it with wood gunwales, decks, thwarts and seat. But you'd have to wait a few months before I got to it.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll dig up some pictures. Meanwhile here's a
