If I were to get a late start into Prairie Portage, what is the latest a tow would leave from LaTourell's to make it to the Ranger Station in time? It appears there are many camps around the station and on our route. I would consider a late start on the day I arrive versus an early start the next day.
Also, what is your favorite lake in the area for sightseeing?
Have a great day,
JP!

I'm not sure if this helps but going into the Q through PP, and with long drive from Chicago area, I'll enter Moose later in day and camp on Sucker or Birch for early Q entry. If you want to enter the Q on that later in the day entry at Moose, I'd agree that Burke or Sunday is possible, with Inlet Bay, Green Island, or even the first couple of sites on Birch - 1A2 being a several times favorite of mine. Desperate to put some distance from PP, there is always Poacher. And North Bay is maybe 4 hours and lots of sites.

I agree with Bill Conner that you might be better off camping on the american side and crossing prairie portage in the morning. The afternoon winds can be a killer once you cross, and most of the close in sites are often occupied.
