Yep, my fire season is almost over, 8.5 months away from home and my pups.
Saw the wife once.

I did around and 15-20 paddles.
Camped out around 12 trips. All solo.
Saw 10+ black bears one Brown/Griz bear.
Only 30-40 Moose. ( way down from last year)

Everything I do is solo.
I fire patrol solo.
Camp solo.
Hike solo.
Live solo off the electrical grid, six miles from my nearest neighbor.
Ya, I admit I'm still a little Bearanoid, soloing in the heaviest Grizzly concentration in AK.
800 Grizzly bears are estimated here, in an area the size of the MN arrowhead, and 3000+ black bears.
(Kenai Peninsula)

I just got off a 300 acre fire near Palmer yesterday, thanks to recent snow.
I went for a drive today and took pictures. Here are a few.

The cabin pic is of the Skilak Lake Guard Station where I live.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing as I don't get to AK often. It's on the bucket list.
Safe travels back home.

Have really enjoyed your pictures up there this year; thanks for sharing them!

I've enjoyed the pictures and I'm glad you made it through all your adventures safely. Hope it is an easy adjustment for you back to "civilization" in Duluth.

Thank you so much for showing us "your" Alaska. It must be really tough to take a bad picture with all the natural beauty up there. I liked them all but the picture looking down the road was my fav. Glad you had a safe season, enjoy our time in "tropical" Minnesota. Next time you might want to mention your wife before the pups, just saying. FRED

Flying out tonite.

Larry,
I will bounce between Duluth and Detroit Lakes this winter.
Probably sell a little firewood and tune a few piano's for extra money,
otherwise it will be relaxing, I return to Ak in March, 2017.

Mjmkjun,
That cord through my window is my Cell Phone Booster cord.
The Skilak Guard Station was build in 1951 and is historic, I can't drill holes in it, besides I do not own it.
I look forward to meeting you next year, hope I am not gone on a fire when you come up.

Fred,
Good advice.
