Did a bunch of hiking in the woods near Two Harbors and Lake superior last week, the colors were gorgeous.

Nice pics! Seems like the colors always hang on a little later on the shore?

Yes; at my place up the hill the last of the leaves were coming down fast Monday the 10th. The leaves looked at they’re peak colors from the Lake Superior shore south to Pine City where the peak was just beginning. The lake’s micro climate keeps the minimum temperature higher than inland, slowing down the process a bit.

Here's Wrangell-St. Elias NP in the first week of September. It's all covered in snow now, but at least the fall colors are down here in WI now!

Beautiful! I was "up north" this past weekend too. Seemed like 1/2 the state of MN was in Duluth!

Colors here still somewhat "Dull." Years ago, we'd be a bit past peak and the hills would have a lot of crimson and red of the oaks still hanging on. A lot of willow and sycamores primarily green still. Usually first week of duck season would find us with only a few oaks an an odd maple with a few leaves. This year, there will be a lot of cover in the woods next week. Here's a pic or two of the St. Francis River today:

This, btw, is an "Old" picture of what late October used to look like:
