Finally got some snow today! About 2" of wet heavy snow here in Madison. I'm itching to get some cross-country skiiing in over winter break here in a few weeks, let's hope we get some more good snow.

Also patiently waiting for some decent ice to do some hard water fishing....

Anybody else ready to get out doing winter stuff?

Got about 6 inches of heavy wet snow on the grassy areas. Only about half that on the roads by me in NW Indiana.

It was almost the perfect snow. No wind so it fell straight down coating the trees. Took the two dogs for a nice relaxing walk .

We had around 10 inches here in the Quad Cities. Very heavy wet snow so made it hard to push or shovel.

Sat in the duck blind for the last day of the season and all I got was wet. 4 inches or more of heavy wet stuff. Piled up on your collar, gun barrel, hat...... Most gonna melt today and make things sloppy then freeze up later this week. Fun fun fun

Well this weekend I put the snow blower on the big tractor and the tire chains on the loader tractor, as I get older I find winter less and less apealing. FRED

Never did finish with the leaves.... the rake is under the snow somewhere...might melt a little today before a big cold wave comes.
started putting chains on the tractors...how come those things weigh more every year?
if cow calls are slow will try to get the lites working for the outside Christmas moose. Any normal person would have thrown them out years ago.

I still dehorn cattle for one farmer... my chute is on permanent loan there. We have been finding excuses not to do it since spring....yesterday we sucked it up and did 24 of them...the were big already...but it might have been the last 'nicer' day to do it.

well I should post this and go get those moose out of the barn into my shop to see how bad the light sets are on them....bah humbug

Possibly a dusting coming for us tomorrow? Fingers crossed, as I'll be on the river.

Just returned from my cabin by Itasce SP, to Detroit Lakes.
It didn't seem too bad in the woods, that quickly changed the closer to DL I got.
I should not have been on the road, snow and lack of visibility due to wind, but I didn't realize it until I was committed.
Heard Grand Forks got a foot.
I-94 and I-29 are closed in ND, from Fargo to Dickinson and Fargo to Canada.

My wife has pretty much given up on her Frazee Schools closing early, although many in the area hung it up around the lunch hour. Nasty wind along with this one.

Looking like we in NW ILLINOIS could get a nice snow storm sometime within the next week or so. And then very cold. Winter is here.

Got a few inches yesterday in Detroit Lakes, I need to plow the driveway now.
It is -6 right now, it's hot. ;-)

The wife and I were going to go Mtn biking but it was too hot.
Instead we decided to go canoeing with the dog.
Here is a pic of today's canoe ride.

Another 7-11 inches predicted for Madison this weekend with the cold blast, 8-10 inches back home. Looking good!
