Thanks for the report. Glad you survived the storm with no big problems - I haven't been through one like that. The stories are very sobering though, as was the recent thread about the rangers caught in the Pagami Creek wildfire several years ago.

I'm sure you'll have better fishing next year - aren't all fishermen optimists :).

I remember that storm. I had had exited just days before. I've never been through one like that. Thanks for posting the report. Hope fishing is better next time!

And we entered right after that blow (at Mudro, too). Well, at least it was one of the first days you could get in there. Pretty wild stuff, seeing so many downed and leaning across the road yet.

Hey CityFisher74, looks like an awesome trip and a great campsite. Glad nobody got hurt. You probably will never forget that storm.

I was in that same day storm on Red Rock Lake, just my 11 year old son and myself. I knew it would be hairy when everything went from perfectly calm and still, to a fair breeze blowing through about 15 degrees colder than what the air temperature had been. Half an hour later it was like a hurricane.

I'm shocked our tent stayed staked down, I felt like it would take off and go airborne any minute. Somehow my son fell back asleep right in the middle of the storm, go figure. Our whole week was beautiful weather except for that 2-3 hours.

Great trip report, I enjoyed reading it, exciting stuff. Nice photography too.
I agree with you totally about drinking the night before your trip, not a good idea.I won't be doing that again.
