I just received a luci light. I was so excited when it arrived but I'm sure have a difficult time trying to inflate it. I've blown up countless items like this before, but this is sure difficult. The thing to blow in doesn't stick out enough in my opinion. Has anyone else had trouble blowing theirs up or is it just me?

The Luci lamps I have use a bite valve just like many inflatable pool toys. Pull it out bite lightly at the base, a few puffs and it's good.

If you prefer not to bite down, you can also squeeze fill tube with your finger tips. Frankly, I'll try to get some air into the lamp by squeezing the fill tube and gently pulling the base from the top and then top-off with my breath. This puts fractionally less moisture into the interior which helps to reduce potential condensation.

In any case, inward pressure on the fill tube is necessary to get air into the lamp. Even if you don't use your fingers to apply pressure when inflating, you'll probably want to go that route when deflating.

BTW: The fill tube should be a tad over 1/2 inch long when pulled out of the top.

Could also be a faulty product. My first Luci light only stayed lit for about 10 minutes. My new Luci light stays lit for hours and hours.

Yes, I have the same problem. If you use your fingers to pinch the valve, there is not enough valve stem left to blow into. And you have to pinch the valve just right. I'll try the light bite approach suggested by butthead.

"Light Bite" good and it works well for me. Andm, though it is a little "fussy" filling, it holds air really well.

I do think the pull apart accordion method DD suggest will break the solar cell, battery plate. Condensation inside the globe does not harm the lamp.
The LEDs are covered with an inside layer of vinyl material same as the globe.

Well, I did say "gently." Mine are still working fine five years in. YMMV.

I have pulled the two halves apart since I purchased my light. I never add air via blowing into the light as when I have it pulled apart that has been enough for me.
As long as you are gentle I see nothing wrong with this method. I have had my light for several years now and done this with no problems.

Agreed on the pull apart method. Pinch and gently pull, no air necessary
