Well the title pretty well speaks for itself. It has been about 12 years since I have been to Iron. Are there any Beaches there? Thank you

I've never seen one. I know there's one on Nina Moose.

Richwon4,

Last fall we stayed on three island on Iron and kept wondering if we were seeing a beach to the ESE. We never paddled over but it looks promising from satellite images. I'm sure you'll here from others.

I've been to Iron many times. I've never seen a beach there. In looking at the sat image, I doubt it's a beach.

I agree with Old Salt. If you want beaches - go to Insula or Alice in the east side.

Some of these guys have been around and have enough experience on Iron I'm sure they have the lake figured out. Then there is Google earth indications but that Ius unreliable compared to experience and as sand and rock can look so alike from outer space.

I didn't say that one couldn't look for a beach on Iron. Anyone can look. If finding a beach is a priority, I would choose a different lake. There are many lakes that have some great beaches. Anything that might be on Iron would be minuscule at best.

There is a beach with a site right there. Its ok. I think the bugs would be really bad.

Yup! That's a beach. Was pretty nice for swimming. Site was decent and not too buggy. There is an old winter trail behind camp going to Sunday bay-perhaps from the zups days.

+1-- played catch with a football there in the sand/water many moons ago on warm May afternoon. The trail to Sunday Bat of Crooked at that time was doable for a portage-- not the best -- but doable.
