In cleaning out my mother-in-laws kitchen, my wife came across an old photo post card marked "Cabin at Morts Resort - Ely, Minn. It is a nice b&w picture of an old cabin from around the 30's or 40's.

I'd like to find out more about this resort so that I could date the postcard.

Is there a list somewhere giving the history of resorts and dates of operation?

Thanks for posting. I have some Fisher maps of bwca from 1930s that show area resorts/lodges. I have to look at/dont have a picture of the map of Basswood/Ely area.

Cool! I know Dan ? Zupp said his Grandfather had a resort at Curtain Falls and remember a thread that LadyBug lodge on Shagawa was another old one 'back in the day'. Wish I knew more.

If you appreciate history of the BWCA and Q you should review the posts on the private forum, BWCA history. It has some very good information on various historical events. It is a wealth of information.
