no winners yet...... trying to hold off until Cowdoc makes his first guess before the next photo. I can't give him 2 photos to use for his 1st guess ;)

I will tell you it's taken from a campsite.

Yep! It's the skinny bay where the portage to the Kelso river is.

How many lakes have you visited cowdoc? And how many times apiece!?

Well, I really enjoy these, "What the heck is this lake?" contests. However, is it really fair to have a, "Savant syndrome is a condition in which a person with a developmental difference demonstrates profound and prodigious capacities or abilities far in excess of what would be considered normal." playing the game?

The above is courtesy of Wiki. Good job Mr. Bovine. I am amazed at the depth of memory you have.

ok.....that was a lucky guess. I usually don't like to guess, and when I do, it's usually an educated guess. I've been to quite a few lakes, and I do recognize places but when I don't recognize the exact spot, I do recognize the "the general area". Lowland spruce lakes, rockier lakes, more hills, etc. From there I go to maps and compare views. On this one I felt it was the Sawbill area from the shoreline make-up, plus Sawbill has parts that run "North-South". Most lakes in the BW are oriented East-West. That island in the distance was a big clue also. It matched up about right on the satellite image. Campsite or portage view is also important and yes......the campsite ducks mentioned is where I figured this was on Sawbill. Sometimes it's recognition, sometimes it's detective work. I have a lot of pictures and many times I find comparable landmarks. I just like the challenge.

It is not how many lakes Cowdoc has been to - it is that he actually remembers what each one looks like. again - who is keep score?
