New member here...My Dad and I have reservations at one of the Canoe Canada Outfitters Cabins on Nym Lake. Has anyone used them before? My dad is in his mid-70s now and preferred not to paddle in this year but we wanted to get the closest experience to Quetico that we could. I know it's an entry point but what about other boat traffic, is it a busy lake or will we still get some of the peace and quiet we're looking for. Thanks in advance for the replies.

I've paddled across Nym numerous times over the years, always in June, and I would have to say motorized boat traffic is very light. I dont think you'll have too much trouble finding peace and quiet.

My experience, Nym is a busy lake. I have only traveled between the portage to Batch and the parking lot.

French Lake has a very nice campground, complete with electric, water, and showers. It is a short paddle into Pickeral, no portages, no motors. Lots of folks fishing on Nym with boats and motors.

Another option is to stay at Quetico School College on Eva Lake. It's a nice place to stay and Eva has good fishing.
