I'm looking for a drop in canoe seat for a 17' Old Town Penobscot. I currently have the Wenonah drop in seat, which we like quite a bit, but curious if there are other, cheaper options available (my searches say no, but...). Our 3 year old won't appreciate duffing it in the bottom another year and I'm not sure I should spend the money on a second Wenonah drop in seat when we'll likely need to get a larger and/or second canoe fairly soon. A good problem to have, with two young boys who love being on the water. Thanks in advance!

Spring Creek seat/yoke "
We have this for Basecamp Kid to be able to sit in since we have a Wenonah Boundary Waters, a 17 footer... works great, and she gets a comfortable seat to sit on v/s sitting on packs.
Bonus - it doubles as a yoke!

I bought two of these for the grand kids...work pretty decent on any canoe .
Canoe seat
shop around...I think I paid about $70 each.
Can't find pictures right off but I have these canvas things with metal hangers that hang on the gunnels. have lines to adjust them... very light and would be more ideal for portages but I like the rigid drop in seats for little kids better

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. -Robert A. Heinlein

I'm looking for one of the plastic Carlisle or Old Towne seats. I figure both grand kids can sit next to each other and are closer up to the side of the canoe to use their paddle.
