I have a Katadyn pocket as my filter, and I would like to get a longer output hose. I tried once to order some tubing off eBay but the stuff I got was way to thin. I don't trust it. I want something like the silicon tubing it comes with, nice thick walled that holds its shape when packed away. Does anyone have a source that they know what they are getting? I don't want to keep playing roulette in hopes I get some good stuff.

Last time I needed some, several years ago, I went to my local FleetFarm (ag/hardware/sporting goods) store.

I've had good success with Ebay GoFlow Systems
Available in different sizes. It is soft and flexible, can kink but opens right up, packs very well, and replaces most all my Camelback hoses, and filter lines, it is a direct replacement for the tubing that came with my First Need Purifyer.
1/4" ID x 3/8" OD mikes at .377in outside and .249in inside.
The blue tube is CamelBack tubing and fairly stiff .347 ID shown measured with the slightly compressed silicon tube, other larger tube is 3/8" ID x 5/8" OD.

I've ordered from this supplier 3 times now over last 3 years, with great results.

A lot of hardware stores carry various thickness and sizes of tubing in the plumbing department.

silicon food grade tubing
I get mine from Amazon. My old Katadyn tubes are 5mm ID and 7 mm OD. I use Amazon Prime - no shipping and I get it the next day. Their warehouse is just a little south of me so I get things super fast.
For clip/shut offs - Butthead suggested a brewing supply company - I found one close to home and got those too.

I know you asked about silicone tubing, and I've used the source mentioned by Butthead. However, I have also used surgical tubing for water filter applications. It may be too flexible for your purposes, but I've found the pliability useful, especially in cooler conditions where the silicone tends to become stiffer.

I purchased all my parts for a couple of gravity systems (except the bags) at www.freshwatersystems.com. Very efficient, fast, and easy to order from.

You can buy food grade tubing at your local Home Brew shop.

They should have the silicone you are looking for. That stuff is the best!

Dutch and Home brewing shops are your best bet. I've gotten silicon tubing from both.

Thanks for the replies!

I live in a rural community and the stuff I have bought online in the past has been poor quality and way to flimsy. Thanks for all the suggestions. I dont have a local brew store, none of the hardware places around me have silicon tubing. I will give of your online suggestions a try.
