Hello ladies and gentleman. This July my wife and I have a 5 day trip planned out of EP 23. While I've been to the BWCA several times, I've always gone to the Numbered Lakes chain with family. So this will be my first time in a new area, and as a leader. We would like to camp near the EP the night before our entry so we can set off bright and early. We live in the Twin Cities and are hoping to avoid leaving home at 3am the day of our entry, which would make for a very long first day. Any suggestions on places we could camp/stay would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Snosaj

Fenske Lake campground is very close to the Mudro EP.

+1 on Fenske. Also check out Fall Lake and Kawishiwi River. Or about 30 minutes south of Ely is a wonderful campground in Embarrass.

+ 2 on Fenske. We stayed at the Group site one Labor Day weekend and loved it, and took day trips to Mudro.

We did drive through the regular campground and found it to be really nice too. The campsites are tucked far enough in where your neighbors won't be a bother.
