Partner and I will be in Grand Marais May 10th, thurs., before going out the 11th. Anybody up for a "meet and greet"? We will be there the afternoon and evening.

Yea, we are going in on Fri. at Round lake and end up around Gillis. Sorta the annual laker trip.

To pswith5 and Mocha: What say we meet at Gunflint Tavern at 6:30 or so?
My partner will be wearing a pink TuTu, complete with frilly skirt. The green elf shoes will grow on you, especially since he just started shaving his legs. Also, he has a "man satchel"(don't call it a purse!). I will be wearing a lime green leisure suit, with white belt and white patent leather shoes. We like to dress up when coming to town. Pay no attention to the large "Crips '75" tattoo covering the back of my bald head. I am no longer associated with gangs, and frankly, my parole officer thinks the board will drop my probation soon!
Looking forward to meeting y'all. Mocha. I have seen your profile picture, will you be wearing your cat? We will be driving a gray Porsche 944 with Okla. plates, and a Wenonah on the canoe rack. Thinking about noodling while we are up there, maybe for pike, beavers, bear...you know, something to write home about. Got any ideas where?

bassnut- I don't think I will be in GM until Friday but if things change I will see you at the Tavern. There should still be a beer for you on the beer board. As far as noodling for bears, that might work in the winter when they are denned up. If you want to noodle for some skunks swing by my place on your way through Duluth.

To w_h: Would really be cool to meet you. Thanks for skunk offer, but we get a good workout with those "portable septic tanks" as it is. Partner is giving me fits...he may try to bring a saddle for those meese y'all got. I said,"Kel, the saddle and the bit looks pretty easy, but that poop bag on their...backside..don't think a bull is gonna just stand there while you put that on". Weird...the reality some people live in...

Yes, thurs. the 10th we will be in town(GM). Plan to be at Gunflint Tavern about 6:30pm. Look for a gray 4X4 Porsche 944 with a Wenonah riding shotgun. Bumper sticker will explain everything! When we come out of the BW on thurs. the 17th we are going to go to Ely, stay the night, and leave to go home on Fri.
Partner(Kel) wants to buy a solo canoe. He saw an ad for a Bell Jet Ranger, but it didn't say whether it is Kevlar, Royalex, or what. And the guy(or girl) wants $400,000! Kel thinks it is a misprint, but frankly, I've never heard of that model...and it seems kinda pricey. But, we'll see.

you probably can't fit that rig in the public parking ramp, eh? so you'll have to take up two metered parking spaces on the street. the meters only take indian head nickels so bring a few rolls, you'll have to feed both meters since, tecnically, you have two "vehicles".

bassnut, If everything goes right we might be able to stop by and have a beer Thursday night. I'm putting my new boat in Saganaga, Friday morning, with canoe on top, will camp on Sag and do day trips into surronding lakes.

I won't be up Thursday but maybe we'll meet at Round lake. My ragtag group is heading in to Tuscarora to base camp on Friday. We'll be the guys with three aluminum barges muttering on the portage about getting lighter boats.

There's always money in the banana stand.
